"This award show did the unimaginable. It made the presentation of the Craft Emmy's fun even for those totally outside the biz."

For twenty years I produced the Television Academy's Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which recognizes art directors, costumers, composers, and similar behind-the-scenes artists, talent, and producers.

During my tenure, the show grew from a dinner dance held at a convention hall to a televised event filling what is now the Microsoft Theater at LA Live.

Television Academy Chairman and CEO Bruce Rosenblum said:
"Spike has been an important part of the DNA of the Television Academy for a very long time. He has strongly influenced the artistic direction of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, and shaped it into a wonderful celebration of the many artists, technicians, and talents who are the heart and soul of our industry."
